World of Warcraft Item Upgrades
Upgrades to items give players the possibility of upgrading equipment that they already have. This can be done at any item upgrader NPC.
Upgrades increase the main stat of an item and add additional features based on the type of item. Examples include Whistan's shield, for FB Sorcs, or Goldwraps for casting builds.
Armour
Link's armor is a crucial element in keeping him safe from harm. While it can't be upgraded like weapons, it is able to be improved in a variety of ways to enhance its defense capabilities.
Armour is designed to safeguard people or animals from harm or injury, whether it's from a direct physical attack or from a variety of hazards posed by the environment or activities. In the past, armour was typically constructed from leather or fabric, but later metal protections were also used for military purposes, particularly like heavy cavalry and combat drones.
As with weapons, there are a number of ways in which armour can be upgraded, but most will require visiting one of the four Great Fairy Fountains located throughout Hyrule. Each fountain has a distinct level of upgrade with higher levels of protection requiring more rupees as well as materials.
First, Armor Upgrades are permanent upgrades. Once they've been applied and removed, they cannot be reverted in the event that you own a piece of equipment that has the same upgrade. It is important that you only apply the most effective level of upgrades to your equipment and ensure that you have the required materials to complete the upgrade.
For those who want to acquire the necessary upgrade components to upgrade your character, they are available in a variety of places around Hyrule, including shrines, shops as well as enemies. They are usually marked with the gold circle or blue triangle symbol and are available in large quantities as you advance through the game. While they might appear randomly, there's the possibility that acquiring certain upgrade elements will lead to an adventure that rewards you with more.
It is important to remember that even though the amount offered by each upgrade could vary but it will always be more than zero. This is due to the fact that a full set of upgraded armor will grant you a high defense boost, which will shield you from all kinds of attacks except magic which makes it a very effective tool for any type of.
Weapons
You can upgrade your guns by using special upgrades that create a truly unique weapon. They can increase the damage, alter the weapon's stats so that they are suited to your particular build, and even unlock new attachments like unique ammo types, enchantments and more aesthetic options.
To upgrade a weapon, you'll require an upgrade component available and the item itself. The weapon must be at a minimum of an appropriate level to upgrade it. Most weapons only be upgraded by one upgrade.
Weapon upgrade components are available all over the world, from enemies or from merchants. Upgrade components are a mixture of ingredients that you can put into weapons, armors, trinkets and gathering tools to earn an attribute bonus. The equipment must be at a certain level to accept the upgrade. It is able to be upgraded in the same way as other items.
The upgrades themselves are a combination of Smithing Stones and Runes, and are used for enhancing the base stats of a weapon and enhancing its scale with other stats. These upgrades are available from enemies in the open world or from merchants. They are also dropped through combat.
Two NPCs can upgrade your weapon: the Blacksmith Hewg in the Roundtable Hold hub zone and the Smithing Master Iji, in the Road to Manor hub zone. Both of these NPCs will take your Smithing Stones and Runes in exchange for a higher-level version of the weapon and an enhancement.
It's crucial to prioritize upgrading your most-used items first, followed by the ones you won't replace soon. If you're playing a melee build, for instance, upgrade your weapon first, then your chest and shoulders before your feet and hands. Similar principles apply to Magic and Utility Items, with the caveat that certain procs may be better than others based on the style of play you prefer. The same goes for Armour, with some reforges being superior to others.
Magic Items
A character can upgrade only one item of magic at a time. If an upgrade plan has been canceled, no further upgrades will be planned for that item. Magic items that are upgraded will cost twice the gold they would normally cost to create or buy however, they also provide additional benefits.
A magical item is any item that has some special properties or effects. The majority of these items are weapons, but there are some that are also armor, shields and cloaks, potions, scrolls, rings, and other items. Certain of these items can be made sentient.
The majority of magic items can be upgraded to be enhanced with new abilities. This makes them more useful for players, or can help them overcome an especially difficult challenge. A weapon infused with some special substance could be able to provide additional damage against a specific type of enemy. This is especially beneficial for characters who have reached the point that they're likely to face a single kind of monster over and over again in dungeons.
A ring with an infusion could grant immunity to bludgeoning, piercing or slashing damages from non-magical attacks (not including silvered ones) until the next time the character takes a long rest. This is particularly beneficial for melee martial characters or anyone who would like to avoid the cost and hassle of purchasing a shield.
Some enchanted objects have special powers which allow the character to cast spells that aren't on their class list. This is a great benefit for a character who has trouble filling their spell slots because of multiclassing. These enchanted items generally require an Intelligence (Arcana) check to use, and the spell cast is determined by rolling an array of tables that is based on the number Intelligence points expended.
Other items that can be enchanted may allow the user to alter their appearance, or even create an entirely new appearance. These can be particularly useful for those who have had to leave their homes, or who are in a location where they may not be welcome. A magical item could provide them with an invisibility effect, or make them invisible to all except a chosen person.
Utility Items
Utility items are anything that doesn't fall under the categories of Armor or Clothing and are able to perform a variety of capabilities. Unlike Armor and Weapons, no one utility item will be in conflict with the other. item upgrading provide an effect that a player can activate by using them but some have additional abilities that activate when the user presses the button or activates the ability.

The Flashlight is the most common accessory. It lights up the surrounding area. Other utility items include the Helicopter Cap and Rocket Boots which allow the player to hover in mid-air when moving and the Jetpack which allows him to accelerate in any directions when on the ground. In the Engineering section, you can instantly produce several utilitarian items, whereas others are available only through Research projects or experimental projects on the Proving Ground.
In addition to the items available in the standard inventory, players can also unlock additional powerful utility items by buying them from the Atomic Shop and also from seasonal Scoreboard rewards (such as the Shadow Goggles). Some of these items can be upgraded for more effective use.
The majority of utilitarian items give the player a navigational advantage or increase the effectiveness of a particular combat skill. Sharpening stones, created by a Weaponsmith, increase Power and Ferocity, while Maintenance Oils, crafted by the Huntsman can increase concentration and healing power. Other items of utility, such as Writs and Theses made by the Scribe can be used to give the player either a boost in Damage or Condition Damage.
XCOM soldiers can equip one accessory item to start the campaign. An additional slot is available after completing certain engineering, research, or research projects on the Proving Ground. In the Alien Hunters DLC, additional slots are made available by equipping the Grenade Launcher, which allows players to equip a Smoke Grenade or Bomb in an additional grenade slot while an offensive grenade is placed in the main grenade slot.
